We made it home Saturday night...Thanks for tagging along on our trip. It was really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all of us. See you all soon.

The last stop on our three week journey was to visit the old Ohio waterway canal in Peninsula. The kids had the chance to walk a bit on the donkey boat tow path. After that it was drive, drive, drive...

Glow-in-the-dark party took place on our last night.

Lunch at the SHED - the Iowa Machine Shed Restaurant - helped take the sting out of missing out on our last stop. Huge portions and great food!

One of our final stops was to have ice cream at the oldest parlor in the world. Unfortunately, Gus and Thelma (the owners) had a meeting in the neighboring town -- so they had to close the shop for the day. If we are ever back in Iowa -- we'll be sure to finish that task.

A lot of this during our last few days -- unfortunately! Long driving days -- trying to make up for loss time.

Happy 4th of July folks! We celebrated by having dinner with fireworks in 3D!

The Mammoth Site Dig! Over 60 complete Mammoth's found to-date. Very interesting place to visit.

After waking up in our RV park to a full pancake breakfast (yes, most of them have it available) -- the kids went for a quick swim. We then traveled up to see the famous Mammoth Dig Site in Hot Springs -- only to get side tracked by a 4th of July Parade. It was a pleasant side-track :)

One very cool place worth mentioning is the Crazy Horse Memorial. All four head craved in Mount Rushmore can fit into Crazy Horse's head. The plans for this site are out of this world. We wish them much luck!

What can we say -- other than 'Mount Rushmore' was one of the main stops on our trip? It was a very beautiful and sometimes scary drive to the site within the Black Hills. Well worth the visit though! Notice the parent's photo -- this happens when you send a child to do a mom's job -- do you see the heads anywhere?

Before heading to search for GOLD in the mine -- we...we'll let you figure that out for yourselves! BTW: Zach was the only person on our mine tour to notice the shoes hanging from the wall. You can see them in one of the last photos. Of course it wasn't really a person, but a joke.
